Audience
We do not mail to everyone. The list is the product: owner-occupied, single-family, top home values, chosen route by route.

Each issue is printed every other month in one large run, which is what keeps rates down. Half the copies mail on the first drop; the other half are held thirty days and mail on the second. Both drops cover every zip code we serve, so a magazine lands in the market every month.

Mail drops
60,000unique homes, printed six times, mailed twelve
Drop 1
Whole area, half the homes
Drop 2
Whole area, half the homes
Both drops cover the whole area. Each reaches a different half of the homes, so an issue lands in 60,000 unique homes and no home gets the same issue twice.
- Calls rise for about two weeks after every drop, so an advertiser sees leads all year rather than in bursts.
- You are billed per drop and your ad prints per issue; two drops per issue is why the numbers read the way they do.
- Owner-occupied single-family homes only, ranked by home value, carrier route by carrier route.
A homeowner keeps the magazine for weeks and comes back to it while a project takes shape. That is a different kind of attention from a feed.
How the list is built
We work with our mailing house to rank home values in each market, then pick the areas our advertisers most want to reach and narrow them by carrier route. Every address is a verified owner-occupied single-family home; apartments, condos and rentals are excluded.
Each issue then mails in two drops of 30,000 homes, thirty days apart, across the whole area, so it reaches 60,000 unique homes without repeating one and a magazine lands in the market every month.
A home-improvement mindset
The book carries home-improvement businesses only. There are no dress shops or jewellers between your ad and the next, so a reader stays in the frame of mind of improving the house they are sitting in.
Alongside your digital marketing
Many of our longest-running advertisers also run Google and social campaigns. The magazine reaches a high-intent audience that does not respond to those channels the same way, and it stays in the home for weeks rather than seconds.
The trade sees it too
Each issue also mails to the leading home-improvement professionals in the market: about 1,200 in Kern County and 1,000 in Fresno/Clovis. The people who refer work see who is advertising.
